For Pixel phones, Android 13 is soon to be available, while OnePlus, Oppo’s sibling company, has already made OxygenOS 13 available. Only a limited group of internal members have been allowed to test the latest ColorOS 13 beta initially at Oppo. A recent rumor suggests that ColorOS 13 would be made accessible globally in August 2022, while the brand has not yet provided an official launch date for its Android 13-based custom skin (that is, later this month).
According to a report from 91Mobiles, ColorOS 13 will launch globally in August. Given that OnePlus just debuted OxygenOS 13 at the same event as the OnePlus 10T, this news shouldn’t come as a surprise. For those who don’t know, OxygenOS from OnePlus and ColorOS from Oppo supposedly use the same unified operating system. The Reno 8 series, which consists of the Reno 8 and Reno 8 Pro, will be among the first smartphones to receive the Android 13-based ColorOS upgrade in September, the source claims.
Additionally, Oppo has started aggressively hiring for the ColorOS 13 public beta program for the Find N and Find X5 Pro. Prior to the upgrade’s deployment to the stable channel later this year, program participants will have the chance to test ColorOS 13 based on Android 13 on the aforementioned devices.
If you wish to use the Android 13 build before it is officially released, you may sign up your phone for the ColorOS 13 beta, which is based on Android 13. To proceed, start by creating a backup of your data and upgrading your OPPO Find N, OPPO X5, and OPPO X5 Pro to A.20/A.21. Finally, register for a position in the open beta test by going to Settings > About device > Trial versions.
