The Made by Google 2022 event saw the introduction of the Google Pixel Watch. The brand also unveiled the Pixel 7 series smartphone at the same event. The Pixel Watch is Google’s first smartwatch to bear the company’s logo. The smart wearable was briefly displayed at Google IO 2022 earlier this year, and the firm has now formally released the device’s full specifications.
Google also revealed several significant upgrades and additions to the Wear OS platform along with the launch. The Pixel Watch has a spherical dome shape and will be offered in LTE and Wi-Fi versions. Unfortunately, because the company withheld information relevant to India, the Pixel Watch won’t be offered during the launch.
A 1.6-inch circular display with noticeable bezels surrounds the screen on the Google Pixel Watch. The watch is run by Wear OS, which includes all the useful Google services like the Assistant, Maps, Wallet, and Play Store. In order to provide a smooth experience, WearOS on the Pixel Watch has been particularly designed for the circular form of the watch.
The Home app is now available as a preview for all devices running Wear OS 3 and higher, as Google had previously promised that it will be shortly available on the Wear OS platform. The watch has a rotating crown and a side button for navigating the user interface and menus.
The Pixel Watch has complications, which work similarly to what we’ve seen on the Galaxy smartwatches and let users start an app or activity with a single tap or swipe. On the Google Pixel Watch app, you may change these choices as well as others.
The watch’s fitness and health-related capabilities are among its standout features. The Pixel Watch delivers market-leading health and fitness-related functions and complete Fitbit integration. The watch comes with an HR monitor, sleep monitoring, and activity zone minutes, to start. Numerous sports and fitness modes are supported by the watch. The watch also has a built-in GPS that can be used to track outdoor activities without a phone.
The Google Pixel Watch has a starting price of $349 (Rs 28,654) for the Wi-Fi variant and a price of $399 (Rs 32,760) for the 4G LTE model. There are three colors available: Black, Silver, and Gold. Customers have the choice of straps in the colors Lemongrass, Olive, Red, Gray, Beige, and Green. Pre-orders for the watch are currently being accepted in the US.
