Latest rumors of Red Magic 8 Pro hint at 165W fast charging

ZTE-owned gaming company nubia is developing its upcoming flagship utilizing the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. According to a reputable tipster, the new Red Magic 8 Pro will also include a larger battery, faster wired charging and an upgraded under-display camera.

Comparing the upcoming smartphone to the current flagship nubia Red Magic 7S Pro, it will be shorter, thinner and narrower. The display won’t be affected by the lower size; according to Digital Chat Station, the phone will sport a 6.8-inch OLED flat screen, the same as the model it replaces.

The selfie camera sensor will continue to have a 16MP resolution, but improvements to the screen above should result in sharper images and higher video quality. There will still be three cameras on the back: a 50MP primary, an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP auxiliary.

Both a 5,000mAh and a 6,000mAh version of the battery are reportedly available. Given that the nubia Red Magic 8 Pro has already received 3C certification, we can only presume that it will offer 165W wired charging for the smaller model.

The stronger power cell will probably have slower charging speeds and will be in the international model and we are convinced that it will only be available in China.
