Other significant announcements were Tekken 8 for the PS5, Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge for the PS VR2, and a brand-new Hogwarts Legacy teaser. But Pacific Drive, the first game from Ironwood Studio and a PS5-only release, may be one of the more intriguing games revealed during the State of Play. Pacific Drive is a driving game with horror undertones.

Here, we discuss what unfolded at PlayStation State of Play and what to anticipate from each title.

Tekken 8

One of the most eagerly awaited fighting games of 2023, Tekken 8, which is being created for the PS5, officially started things off with a brand-new trailer. New character models and animations for characters like Kazuya and Jin Kazama were displayed in the teaser. The PS5 was used to record the video, and it appears to contain real-time footage from the game as it was being developed.

As the game video is from a work-in-progress, it is possible that the final result will be dissimilar from the footage presented. It appears that Tekken 8 will be a lot of fun, so it will be fascinating to see whether Bandai Namco makes any significant mechanics adjustments.

Yakuza Like A Dragon: Inshin

One of the coolest games on display at State of Play may be this one. This misplaced Like a Dragon game is a historical action-adventure thriller set in 1860s Kyo, a made-up version of Kyoto. The narrative of the samurai age and how it ended is told in the game.

Players will have the opportunity to assume the role of Sakamoto Ryoma, a real-life historical person credited with toppling the shogunate. Although there is no guaranteed release date as of yet, the game launches in 2023.

PlayStation VR2 Showcase – STAR WARS: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge and DEMEO

The next presentation featured two forthcoming PS VR2 games that are currently in development: DEMEO and STAR WARS: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge. The first one appears to be an action-adventure game set in the Star Wars world in which players assume the role of a droid fighting against various enemies, such as AT-ATs and Stormtroopers. At ILMxLab, the game is being created under the Lucasfilm Ltd name.

DEMEO, a turn-based tabletop action-strategy game, was the next release for the PS VR2. It appears to be pretty engaging. Action-adventure games have generally dominated the VR market, therefore the development of games in other genres is rather welcome.

Hogwarts Legacy – PlayStation Exclusive Quest – Haunted Hogsmeade Shop

The Harry Potter/Wizarding World IP has fairly kindly given itself to horror, and it appears that this specific game mission works well to capitalize on that aspect. When Hogwarts Legacy is ultimately released, only PlayStation users will be able to access the Haunted Hogsmeade Quest.

Pacific Drive

This game looked both thrilling and horrifying, making it one of the State of Play’s most intriguing titles. Players appear to be required to make a pretty dangerous drive while being preyed upon by evil supernatural powers throughout their route.

The game appears to have been created by Ironwood Studio especially for the PS5, and it is their first release.

PlayStation Stars

Before the State of Play returned to games, PlayStation’s new loyalty programme, PlayStation Stars, was also announced. Players will receive awards through the loyalty programme for accomplishing specific tasks, which can then be redeemed for digital items.

Players may sign up for the service for free, and it will launch in a few Asian locations in late September. It is anticipated that India would receive the software a few weeks after regions in Europe do in late September.

During the webcast, Bandai Namco debuted SynDuality, their most recent action-RPG. The game appears to have all the makings of a good JPRPG, including thrilling mech action and a compelling story. The PS5 version of the game will be released in 2023.

Project Eve, now Stellar Blade

New gameplay footage for Project Eve, now known as Stellar Blade, was shown in a brand-new video that was just as outrageous and exciting as the earlier ones. Stellar Blade appears to have the potential to become the next major JRPG series, and the forthcoming title is planned as a PS5 Console Exclusive.

Rise of the Ronin

Game developers Team Ninja, who created Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden, are the creators of Rise of the Ronin. Rise of the Ronin is an action-RPG that appears to have an open environment that allows players to take on the role of a Ronin and cause all kinds of spectacular mayhem. The game appears to be incredibly action-packed, and in addition to the action, it also appears to have a really captivating storyline. Additionally, only the PS5 will be able to play the game.

God of War Ragnarok: New Dualsense Controller, Story Trailer

A strong State of Play live stream was bookended by the announcement of a new Story trailer for God of War Ragnarok and a themed Dualsense controller. It would be interesting to watch when and how the new controller is priced accessible at Indian shops.

The latest Story teaser hinted quite a little about the new interaction between Atreus and Kratos, who have both grown substantially. Atreus seemed to be keeping secrets from his father. This will undoubtedly lead to a great deal of tension during the game.

Not only that, but the gameplay was also seen in the clip as Kratos fought a number of foes, teamed up with Tyr and Angraboda, and eventually engaged in combat with Thor.
