Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 reported to sport a larger cover display and invisible crease

Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip5, which won’t make its debut any time soon, may address two of the most common complaints about its predecessor, the Z Flip4. At least if the rumor from today is accurate. Ross Young, CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants, who has a history of being right about such things, is the source of the rumor, which works in the rumor’s favor. Keep in mind that he occasionally makes an unexpected mistake because it is the other side of the coin.

Let’s hope that the Galaxy Z Flip5 will truly have a considerably bigger cover display, as Young claims. This will reportedly be between 3.3 and 3.4 inches, which is significantly larger than the Flip4’s 1.9-inch screen.

For what it’s worth, Oppo’s forthcoming Find N2 Flip, a direct rival to Samsung’s Flip series, has already been seen online and features a sizable internal display. The Flip5 may catch up to and perhaps surpass the Flip4’s claimed 3.26” size, despite the fact that it plainly suprasses that one.

According to Young, the inside screen is also ready for an improvement, namely in the area of creases. In particular, it is said that the Flip5 has a novel hinge style that “reduces the visibility of the seam”. We’ll take anything we can get in this situation, regardless of whether it also lessens the sensation of the crease.

It’s encouraging to see Samsung make progress in this area given that its Chinese rivals have continually released products with folding displays that have less visible (and more barely perceptible) creases. As they say, it’s better late than never.
