Since Qualcomm unveiled its new flagship Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, manufacturers have been scrambling to update their performance-focused devices. Xiaomi has already debuted the 12S series, and it will soon release a Redmi phone equipped with the newest top processor.
A new Redmi K50 flagship is in the pipeline and will launch “soon” using the Qualcomm platform, according to the brand’s chief Lu Weibing, also known as William Lu, who made the announcement on Weibo.
Lu provided a previous graphic from Xiaomi that demonstrated the Plus’ CPU’s and GPU’s improved energy efficiency of 33% and 30% respectively. Since the series is still restricted to the domestic market, we had anticipated the phone to be called the Redmi K50 Ultra but have heard very little about a successor.
According to some speculations, the model would be called Redmi K50S, similar to the Xiaomi 12S series. S, though, has often stood for a special Redmi lineup member rather than an upgrade.
