Sony Xperia 5 IV bags certification from FCC

Sony Xperia 5 IV bags certification from FCC

Three smartphones from Sony are typically launched each year: the Xperia 1, Xperia 10 and Xperia 5. The previous several months saw the announcement of the previous two models’ fourth generation (IV). Since the latter device appears to have been validated by the FCC, the brand may finally release the updated version now that the year is halfway through.

Sumaho Digest has discovered a future Sony smartphone on the FCC. The smartphone is going to be introduced as the Sony Xperia 5 IV.

The listing states that the phone’s display will be 153.5mm across, or around 6-inches. Additionally, it will have a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Furthermore, the device will enable FeliCa and provide Wi-Fi 6 and NFC for the Japanese market. It will also, interestingly, support wireless charging. For those who are unaware, its predecessors could only charge by wire.

Sadly, that is the information we currently have on the Sony Xperia 5 IV. It is unknown if the handset will use a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU from Qualcomm or a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC.

However, we may anticipate it to include a triple camera system, a 120Hz OLED display, IP68 water resistance and twin stereo speakers. The phone may be revealed during the IFA trade event, which is slated to take place from September 2 to September 6.
