Specs of Dimensity 8200 leaked info suggest a minor upgrade over the 8100

The iQOO 7 SE and Xiaomi Redmi smartphones will be powered by the Dimensity 8200, albeit this information is yet unofficial. And now, courtesy of reliable informant Digital Chat Station, we have the SoC’s essential specifications, which point to a little improvement over the Dimensity 8100.

The same four Cortex-A78 and four Cortex-A55 cores would be used, but in a different arrangement and at faster clock rates. The Cortex-A78 will be split into two clusters: one running at 3.1 GHz and three at 3.0 GHz. The four Cortex-A55 efficiency cores continue to run at 2.0 GHz.

The Cortex-A78 on the Dimensity 8100 runs at 2.85 GHz, hence MediaTek significantly increased the clock rates. But the Mali-G610 MC6 GPU is unchanged. The tipster concludes by stating that the SoC’s AnTuTu performance probably exceeds the 900,000 point threshold.

The research concludes with some price forecasts for upcoming Redmi and iQOO devices powered by the aforementioned chipset. Evidently, they won’t go above the CNY 2,000 threshold, or $280 in USD. Even though this pricing excludes taxes and other price elements common in western markets, it still seems very reasonable.
