Xiaomi 12T Pro to be the first phone in company’s portfolio to have eSIM globally

Smartphone makers will soon switch over to using electronic SIM cards in favor of physical SIM cards as eSIM capability grows in popularity. However, as the majority of smartphones do not enable eSIMs, not even in addition to a normal SIM card, there is still time for that to happen. This was also true of the smartphone portfolio from Xiaomi. With the release of its most recent Xiaomi 12T Pro, the Chinese manufacturer has corrected this.

On October 4, Xiaomi 12T Pro was released on the international market as the brand’s first smartphone with eSIM capabilities. It is only supported by a small number of carriers, and the availability may differ by carrier, nation and location.

Notably, the 12T Pro was released with two different sim card combinations: nano SIM + eSIM and nano SIM + nano SIM. Users may currently utilize eSim in a number of nations, including Germany, Italy, France, Japan, and Malaysia. The complete list of nations, regions, and carriers that support eSIM can be seen here.

The Redmi Note 10T also has eSIM capabilities, but only in Japan. Also reportedly supported by this functionality is the forthcoming Xiaomi 12 Lite NE.

Recall that the 6.67-inch AMOLED display on the Xiaomi 12T Pro has a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz and a resolution of 27121220 pixels. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 CPU with 256GB of storage and 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM.

It has a brand-new main sensor with a 200-megapixel resolution. The device also includes a 2-megapixel macro camera and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with an F/2.2 aperture. The gadget has a 20-megapixel selfie camera on the front. The 5000mAh battery of the 12T Pro supports 120W quick charging.
